Note: EPA no longer updates this information, but it may be useful as a reference or resource.
EPA has information, tools, methods, approaches, training, and techniques that can be adapted for other countries. These include:
- EPA’s Technology Transfer Network(TTN) provides information on technical air quality issues, including air quality monitoring, modeling, emission inventories, control technologies, emissions testing, and air toxics.
- Air Pollution Training
- BenMAP is an EPA model that estimates the health benefits associated with air quality changes.
- AIRNow: The U.S. EPA, National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration (NOAA), National Park Service (NPS), tribal, state, and local agencies have developed the AIRNow Web site to provide the public with easy access to national air quality information. The Web site offers daily Air Quality Index forecasts as well as real-time AQI conditions for over 300 cities across the US, and provides links to more detailed State and local air quality Web sites.
- EPA’s AirData Web site provides access to air pollution data for the entire United States.
- The Air Quality Index is an index for reporting daily air quality for the U.S.
- Emissions Trading: Emissions trading is one strategy for reducing emissions, and has been used primarily to reduce emissions from industrial emissions and power plants. EPA’s Emissions Trading Web site has additional information.
