Cooperative Conservation at Work
EPA's Targeted Watershed Grants 2005 Annual Report highlights the success of the Environmental Protection Agency's (EPA) Targeted Watersheds Grant (TWG) Program. The report informs public officials, states, watershed practitioners and the public about the TWG grant program and the progress and accomplishments of the TWG recipients who are working to address environmental challenges in watersheds across the country.
The report provides clear examples of how TWG funding is helping broad-based, watershed partnerships advance the goals of the Clean Water Act through the implementation of technically sound watershed plans. Comprised of informative fact sheets and summaries, as well as colorful maps and graphics, the report highlights 34 community-driven efforts to achieve measurable clean water goals. The report also includes summaries of grantees focused on capacity-building efforts under the TWG Program. Through education and training grants to five leading organizations, EPA is supporting the dissemination of tools, training and technical assistance to strengthen the effectiveness of local watershed practitioners.
