Technical Specifics for Analysis and Reporting

This information supports GRTS designs, computational options, and analysis software.  The software packages are written in S-Plus and R languages (R is a free statistical package). See R Version Compatability Notice.

R Statistical Software: The EMAP Design Team has not verified that the current versions of psurvey.design (2.2.1) or psurvey.analysis (2.9) are compatable with the several versions of the R Statistical Software. The Team has developed and executed these packages using R 2.2.1. Use of R version 2.2.1 is highly recommended and is available for download from this website.

An illustrative example, for the adjustment of site weights and estimation of CDF's is presented for Indiana Streams and Coastal Estuaries. Example includes documentation, data files, R procedures, intermediate and results files.

Method Manual: EMAP Statistical Methods Manual (Note: Appendix A has been incorporated into the FAQ pages (survey designs, survey sampling, and data analysis). Appendix B & C have been superceded and are no longer relevant. The Users Guide for psurvey.analysis provides the general framework for statistical estimation. Also see: Stevens and Olsen
