The tenth annual California Bioresources Alliance Symposium will be held November 4-5 at the Central Valley Regional Water Quality Control Board (11020 Sun Center Dr.) in Rancho Cordova and will focus on building healthy soils.
Building on the governor’s Healthy Soils Initiative this year, the symposium will explore the application of organic residual products in improving soil quality and moisture retention, setting standards for these products and developing best management practices. Sessions will also feature work currently being done with digestates and biochar. The symposium includes a field trip to the UC Davis Sustainable Wine and Food Processing Center.
The two-day event is co-hosted by UC Davis Extension and the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency, Region 9.
