 Former Projects

As part of EPA’s efforts for homeland security, ETV conducted verification of monitoring and treatment technologies for safe buildings and water security. Technologies for water security were verified under the existing ETV Advanced Monitoring Systems Center, Drinking Water Systems Center, and Water Quality Protection Center. Technologies for safe buildings were verified under separate efforts (see below). The Technology Testing and Evaluation program, operated by the EPA National Homeland Security Research Center, continues to verify these types of technologies.

Additionally, ETV verified two technologies under the Environmental Technology Evaluation Center (EvTEC) pilot—this pilot was designed to test a private sector, market-based approach to verification.
