The Midwest Clean Diesel Initiative adresses diesel emissions from a wide variety of sources, including vehicles and equipment in the following sectors:

Agriculture
Construction
Ports
Rail
School Buses
SmartWay Transport (Shippers and Carriers)

In addition, diesel emissions in and around border areas in the Midwest are of concern, due to the volume of truck traffic and the highly populated communities around the border areas.
