Nevada Water Quality
Nevada Division of Environmental Protection is responsible for conducting monitoring, assessment, reporting under CWA Sections 303(d) and 305(b), and TMDL development for the State of Nevada. Water Quality Assessment TMDL Summary Information for Nevada
Nevada's Integrated Report
On August 4, 2014, EPA partially approved and partially disapproved Nevada’s 2012 303(d) list of waters requiring a Total Maximum Daily Load (TMDL). EPA approved waters Nevada identified as requiring a TMDL, and disapproved the omission of one water EPA determined to be impaired due to mercury in fish tissue. EPA’s action added Topaz Lake for mercury in fish tissue.
Following a public comment period on EPA’s notice to add Topaz Lake for fish tissue, on October 23, 2014, EPA transmitted to the state the decision to include the water body-pollutant combination and a responsiveness summary addressing how public comments were considered in the final EPA decision. Provided below are the August 4, 2013 partial approval / partial disapproval letter and the October 23, 2014 letter and enclosure presenting the final decision and responsiveness summary (see EPA documents). The State’s 303(d) lists are available at the link under State Documents, below.
