Sanding, painting, and other activities conducted in auto body shops, have the potential to release pollutants into the air that can contribute to health concerns in the shop and the community. Activities conducted in auto body shops can release hazardous air pollutants, particle pollution (dust), and volatile organic compounds. Federal, state, local, and Tribal regulations limit the amount of emissions allowed from auto body shops.
