- A newly issued report, Mid-Atlantic Highlands Streams Assessment, is the first step in a comprehensive plan for stream restoration in the Appalachian Highlands.
- The EMAP-West Wadeable Streams Field Manual is available as a PDF file.
- The Web pages for the Regional Environmental Monitoring and Assessment Program (REMAP) have been extensively revised and brought up to date. REMAP was initiated to test the applicability of
the EMAP approach to answer questions about ecological conditions at regional and local scales. Using EMAP's statistical design and indicator concepts, REMAP conducts projects at smaller geographic scales and in shorter time
frames than the national EMAP program.
- The EMAP Coastal Symposium 2001 is a four day symposium, jointly sponsored by the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency's (EPA) Office of Research
and Development and the Council of State Governments (CSG). The symposium will provide a forum to present and discuss the results of successful programs and develop new partnerships among federal,
state, tribal, and academic scientists and managers to advance the science of monitoring and assessment of coastal resources. (4/30/01)
