As a part of EPA's National Federal Facilities Enforcement Office, Region 9's Federal Facilities Compliance Program (FFCP) ensures that federal facilities act as necessary to prevent, control, and reduce environmental pollution. Federal facilities can vary from a large military base to an office building in San Francisco. FFCP helps federal facilities comply with environmental laws by encouraging partnerships with EPA programs. Each year, Region 9 recognizes superior efforts to achieve environmental quality in federal facilities beyond current standards through the Region 9 Environmental Awards Program.
