Purpose
The Department of the Navy, Department of the Air Force and U.S. Army Corps
of Engineers are listed as three of the federal agencies partnered with
EPA on the Gulf of Mexico Program. The Gulf of Mexico Program is dedicated
to finding and applying environmental solutions that work in concert
with sound economic development

Geographic Program: Gulf of Mexico:
A partnership of the five Gulf states, Gulf coastal communities, citizens, nongovernmental organizations, and federal agencies
working together to initiate cooperative actions by public and private organizations to achieve specific environmental results.
Efforts in this program support the protection and restoration of the coastal marine waters of the Gulf of Mexico by (1)
protecting human health and the food supply; (2) maintaining and improving Gulf habitats that support living resources;
and (3) maintaining and enhancing the sustainability of Gulf living resources.
