VA Environmental Management Program

Purpose
This is an initiative of the Office of Asset Enterprise Management (OAEM) Environmental Affairs Program. In fulfilling VA's commitment to care for the Nation's veterans and their families, the VA also strive to ensure a healthy and sustainable environment for current and future generations. OAEM promotes VA's commitment to the environment through programs directed at preventing pollution; reducing waste, including through reuse and recycling; purchasing environmentally preferable products and services; conserving natural and cultural resources; and integrating environmental considerations into day-to-day operations and long-term planning processes. OAEM also works collaboratively with other VA organizations and Federal agencies to ensure Departmental compliance with applicable environmental requirements.
