EPA Goal 3: Cleaning Up Communities and Advancing Sustainable Development |
Purpose
This is an initiative of the Office of Asset Enterprise Management (OAEM) Environmental Affairs
Program. In fulfilling VA's commitment to care for the Nation's veterans and their
families, the VA also strive to ensure a healthy and sustainable environment for
current and future generations.
OAEM promotes VA's commitment to the environment through programs directed at
preventing pollution; reducing waste, including through reuse and recycling;
purchasing environmentally preferable products and services; conserving natural
and cultural resources; and integrating environmental considerations into
day-to-day operations and long-term planning processes. OAEM also works
collaboratively with other VA organizations and Federal agencies to ensure
Departmental compliance with applicable environmental requirements.
