Purpose
Indoor air pollution poses many challenges to the health professional. This booklet offers
an overview of those challenges, focusing on acute conditions, with patterns that point
to particular agents and suggestions for appropriate remedial action. It specific
focus is towards Health Professionals.
Relevant to Objective two. Describes methods for reducing risks from toxic indoor air.

Reduce Risks from Indoor Air:
This program/project includes non-regulatory, voluntary programs that address indoor environmental asthma triggers, such as
secondhand smoke, dust mites, mold, cockroaches and other pests, household pets, and combustion byproducts through a variety
of outreach, education, training and guidance activities. This program/project also includes non-regulatory, voluntary
programs and activities that address a range of other indoor air quality issues in homes, schools, and other commercial
buildings through outreach, education, training, and guidance activities.
