Purpose
The SBA’s website explains that the business of cleaning up after an environmental disaster can be a lucrative opportunity for small business owners. The website provides information on Brownfields, Contaminated Properties, and Oil Spill Cleanup.

Brownfields:
Brownfields are defined as real properties, the expansion, redevelopment, or reuse, which may be complicated by the presence or potential presence of a hazardous substance, pollutant, or contaminant. (There is some statutory exclusion to this definition). The Brownfields Program is designed to empower states, Tribes, local communities, and other stakeholders in economic redevelopment to work together to prevent, assess, safely cleanup, and reuse Brownfields.
