Purpose
EPA will work with HUD and DOT to promote equitable redevelopment adjacent to urban
waterways, re¬invest in existing infrastructure, improve water quality, and revitalize
waterfront neighborhoods, especially disadvantaged neighborhoods.
HUD partners with cities, counties and other jurisdictions to offer Community Development
Block Grants, which are grants that provide communities with resources to address a
wide range of unique community development needs. Applicants must develop a plan that
goes through their jurisdiction. Groundwork USA used this grant process.
Help the community improve access to affordable housing.
EPA expects to announce a Request for Proposals in 2010 for approximately $600,000 in
Targeted Watersheds Grants to build capacity in urban watersheds.
