Community Development Block Grants – Disaster Recovery Assistance

Purpose
HUD provides flexible grants to help cities, counties, parishes, and states recover from presidentially declared disasters, especially in low- and moderate-income areas.

Homeland Security: Preparedness, Response, and Recovery:
Develop plans, procedures and standards to respond to major hazardous substance and oil releases caused by weapons of mass destruction (WMD) or nationally significant terrorist incidents. Ensure readiness of EPA preparedness and response personnel through planning, training, and exercises. Coordinate Homeland Security activities with the Department of Homeland Security and other Federal agencies to ensure consistency with the National Response Plan.
