EPA Goal 1: Climate Change and Improving Air Quality |
Purpose
The Green Power Switch program encourages local public power companies
to buy green power as a way to reduce the environmental impacts
associated with purchased electricity use. Renewable energy still
costs more than traditional energy; Green Power Switch purchases
help cover the difference in the cost. It is a simple way for power
companies to increase regional renewable energy today for a
cleaner environment tomorrow.
