EPA Goal 2: Protecting America’s Waters

Partner of the Chesapeake Bay Program

Purpose
FHWA is an active Federal Agency partner of the Chesapeake Bay Program, a unique regional partnership that has coordinated the restoration of the Chesapeake Bay and its watershed since 1983. The Chesapeake Bay Program is managed by EPA through the Chesapeake Bay Program Office.

Geographic Program: Chesapeake Bay:
The Chesapeake Bay Program is a partnership among the States of Maryland, Virginia, Pennsylvania, the District of Columbia, the Chesapeake Bay Commission, and the EPA (representing the federal government) working together to protect and restore the Bay's ecosystem. Enforcement resources will focus on improving compliance with any new or existing water quality or air regulations.
