Birds are banded and a wealth of data is collected for the Monitoring Avian Productivity and Survivorship (MAPS) Program, an on-going study assessing and monitoring the population dynamics of over 120 species of North American land birds.
A collaborative research team from Yale and EPA are teaming up with the MAPS program to study the role of birds in the transmission of Lyme disease to people.
