Faith-based and Neighborhood Partnerships

Why Partner

What is the Faith-based and Neighborhood Partnership Initiative?

The FBNP Initiative supports President Obama's Advisory Council on Faith-based and Neighborhood Partnerships. President Obama signed Executive Order 13498 establishing the White House Office of Faith-based and Neighborhood Partnerships (FBNP) and the creation of an Advisory Council. The Advisory Council is a group of 25 leaders, and the FBNP includes 12 Federal Centers. EPA is the 12th Agency to join the partnership. President Obama has asked the Office of Faith-based and Neighborhood Partnerships to focus on four special priorities. EPA is focusing on promoting interfaith dialogues, and strengthening the role of community organizations.

Why Partner?

By partnering with EPA on its Faith-Based and Neighborhood Partnership Initiative, your organization has the opportunity to serve as an environmental leader in your community. Through collaboration, education and volunteerism, the FBNP Initiative can provide tools and resources to benefit your current environmental programs and help you to develop new ones. The Initiative also works to connect similar faith-based and neighborhood organizations working on environmental projects with one another, building a network of communities across the country in support of environmental literacy and stewardship.
