A Day in the Life of EPA Administrator Gina McCarthy - July 10, 2015: Salt Lake City, Utah
Last week Administrator McCarthy took a trip to Salt Lake City, Utah. There, she toured the Black Diamond Equipment Manufacturing and Operations facility, where she learned about their green energy operations and saw their 2200-watt solar photovoltaic system. Administrator McCarthy also toured the Utah state capital building and met with state legislators to talk about regional haze and the President's Climate Action Plan. Later in the afternoon, Administrator McCarthy delivered remarks at the 2015 League of United Latin American Citizens (LULAC) Annual National Convention & Exposition, during the Women's Luncheon.
To wrap up the day, Administrator McCarthy met with "Green Latinos," a national non-profit organization committed to addressing national, regional, and local environmental and conservation issues that significantly affect the health and welfare of the Latino community in the United States.
The trip to Utah is part of EPA's efforts to build on the President’s Climate Action Plan. The Agency is ramping up outreach to state and local partners to address air and water pollution, and expanding on our efforts to combat climate change by cutting carbon pollution from power plants.
