Software Packages for EMAP
This page offers links to sites providing software packages that may be of use to users of the EMAP WWW exhibit.
Many files available for downloading from the EMAP WWW exhibit are compressed or ZIP'ed to save disk space. The utilities listed below are capable of unZIP'ing these files and recognizing other compression and archiving formats as well.
- PKWARE, Inc.
provides genuine PKZIP/PKUNZIP availability in Windows and DOS versions. - Info-ZIP provides free, portable, high-quality versions of ZIP and UNZIP utilities that are compatible with PKZIP. InfoZIP is supported on a variety of platforms.
- WinZip provides Windows based support for a variety of formats including gzip and tar.
- NOAA's National Climatic Data Center also maintains a convenient list of miscellaneous software available for public consumption.
