Regional Research Partnership Program (RRPP)

The Regional Research Partnership Program provides short-term training (up to 6 months) for regional staff to work directly with Office of Research and Development (ORD) scientists at ORD laboratories and centers. Program goals include:

  1. Establish linkages between regional and technical staff and colleagues in ORD laboratories and centers through short-term collaborative research efforts that foster the development of long-term relationships in support of regional science needs and ORD research objectives.
  2. Establish a formal professional development opportunity for regional technical staff that is based on a competitive process, provides recognition of achievement, and offers an opportunity to perform field or laboratory research in their discipline.
  3. Assist the regions in succession planning and maintenance of the technical training of their staff.

Staff proposals are solicited once a year. One staff member from each region is selected and provided with travel and living expenses while working at an ORD laboratory.
