Regional Research Partnership Program (RRPP)
The Regional Research Partnership Program provides short-term training (up to 6 months) for regional staff to work directly with Office of Research and Development (ORD) scientists at ORD laboratories and centers. Program goals include:
- Establish linkages between regional and technical staff and colleagues in ORD laboratories and centers through short-term collaborative research efforts that foster the development of long-term relationships in support of regional science needs and ORD research objectives.
- Establish a formal professional development opportunity for regional technical staff that is based on a competitive process, provides recognition of achievement, and offers an opportunity to perform field or laboratory research in their discipline.
- Assist the regions in succession planning and maintenance of the technical training of their staff.
Staff proposals are solicited once a year. One staff member from each region is selected and provided with travel and living expenses while working at an ORD laboratory.
