Castaic Lake

EPA is considering the award of a Water Infrastructure Grant to the Castaic Lake Water Agency to install Phase 2A of the Recycled Water Master Plan. Phase 2A extends the recycled water system from the Saugus Water Reclamation Plant (WRP) to the existing abandoned Honby Pump Station. Phase 2A will provide approximately 511 afy of recycled water from the Saugus WRP and route it through a new pump station at the Valencia Mart Shopping Center where it will connect to the Newhall Lateral.

EPA's involvement in the project is part of a national commitment to improve water quality. In compliance with the National Environmental Policy Act (NEPA), an Environmental Assessment (EA) has been prepared that analyzes the potential environmental impacts of the proposed project. Based on a review of the EA, EPA determined the project will not have significant environmental impacts and has issued a Finding of No Significant Impact (FONSI).
