City of Arcadia Public Notice for the Draft Finding of No Significant Impact
EPA is considering authorizing the expenditure of funds awarded to the City of Arcadia. The City of Arcadia received appropriations from EPA to fund water infrastructure projects. A portion of this funding will be used for the construction of the Longley Well No. 3 and the Camino Real Well No. 3.
The Longley Well No. 3 will be located at the existing Longley Water Facility. It will be designed to pump 1500 gallons per minute (GPM) of drinking water. The Camino Real Well No.3 is located at the existing Camino Real Water facility. It will be designed to pump 2500 (GPM) of drinking water. The goal of these projects is to provide safe and reliable drinking water along with increased emergency and fire suppression capabilities. This project is part of the recommendations from a 1997 study compiled by the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers identifying future water infrastructure needs. EPA awarded funding for the project as part of a congressional earmark grant.

Interested persons, including those who disagree with this proposal may submit comments to EPA Region 9 within 30 calendar days from the date the EA is issued. No administrative action will be taken on this proposed project prior to the expiration of the comment period which ends on July 30, 2009.
