AMC aims to work with almost 2,000 students, 5th – 12th grade, in New Hampshire on hands-on activities in Biological Sciences (forest ecology, watershed, wildlife, winter ecology) Earth Sciences (mountain weather, geology), and Outdoor Skills (maps & compasses, teambuilding). All programs emphasize how humans affect and are related to the natural environment. Ranging between one to five days in duration, the courses are shortened or lengthened to meet the needs of the individual schools. Journaling, observations and analysis, group discussions are used to teach the subjects in an interactive method while fulfilling state-mandated curricula requirements.

This project educates the general public, health professionals and community leaders in Massachusetts about threats to human health from environmental pollution and provides a tool that facilitates active participation in improving health by reducing environmental exposures. The Massachusetts Health and Environmental Information System (MassHEIS) is and interactive, web-based mapping tool to allow visitors to explore how sources of pollution, indicators of environmental quality and certain health outcomes vary across Massachusetts. This organization is presenting the MassHEIS site to over 25 organizations.

This organization educates urban high school students living in affordable housing about environmental issues existing in their community. The students investigate and select environmental topics in their community. From this the students create a video on the environmental issues (i.e. water quality, green spaces) and share this with other community members. Students develop critical thinking skills and communications skills creating the video while become stewards of their community.
