The Great NEAEB Pail-In - Thursday afternoon (post-Plenary)
Have you ever wondered if your meter(s) that measure pH, conductivity, dissolved oxygen, barometric pressure, latitude and longitude, temperature, etc. are registering these parameters accurately? What type of difficulties do low ionic strength waters or extremely cold waters pose and how do you solve them? You are encouraged to bring your meter and share your experiences. We will have several pails of water with different characteristics and will test our meters to see how closely they agree. The purpose of this, sure to be “eye-opening” event, is to generate discussion on common problems and their solutions when measuring abiotic parameters.

In addition, sales representatives will give a short presentation on their new products. These may include luminescent measurement of dissolved oxygen, which requires N0 calibration and is immune to the effects of temperature and meters that are equipped with a palm pilot, allowing you to bring your custom-made field data sheets into the field.
