EPA New England Regional Laboratory (Office of Environmental Measurement and Evaluation)
Chemistry Laboratory

A team of chemists at the state of the art laboratory provide analytical testing capability for toxic chemicals in air, water, soil and waste samples. The chemistry laboratory uses a broad array of sophisticated equipment to detect very low concentrations of toxic materials. The testing provided by the chemistry laboratory supports a variety of regional and state surveys to study ambient conditions, investigate industrial contamination and rapidly assess accidental releases of hazardous chemicals.
The Chemistry Team provides the following services:
- Multi-Media Analysis:
Volatile and Semi-Volatile Organics
Trace Metals
Pesticides/PCBs
Water Quality Analytes
Waste Characterization
Air Toxics
Ozone Precursors
Bulk Asbestos
Oil Identification
Endocrine Disruptors
Explosive residues - Mobile Chemistry Laboratory
- Technical Assistance: Lead in Soil - Community Outreach, applied chemistry research, laboratory auditing, training.
