Compliance Assistance & Pollution Prevention in New England

Pollution Prevention (P2) Resources

EPA New England's Assistance and Pollution Prevention (A&P2) Office promotes natural resource conservation and pollutant elimination/reduction through more efficient use of materials, energy, water and land. P2 efforts are integrated into a wide range of EPA New England activities, including compliance assistance, enforcement, and voluntary environmental programs. The Region also manages the P2 Grants program for New England states and tribes.

EPA New England Pollution Prevention (P2) Funding

Pollution Prevention Grant Program: Supports state and tribal technical assistance projects promoting pollution prevention.

Source Reduction Assistance Grant Program: Funds projects supporting source reduction, pollution prevention and/or resource conservation activities in New England.

Healthy Communities Grant Program: Provides funds for projects that achieve measurable environmental, human health and quality of life improvements in communities across New England.

Northeast Waste Management Officials’ Association (NEWMOA)
This interstate organization’s pollution prevention program promotes collaboration among EPA and state programs (New England, New Jersey, and New York) through training, research, projects, policy, tool development, and databases.

Toxics Use Reduction Institute (TURI)
A state organization that provides research, education, and technical support to companies and communities in Massachusetts.

National Pollution Prevention Roundtable
The largest membership organization in the United States devoted to pollution prevention (P2).

Pollution Prevention, US Department of Energy (DOE)
Find policy and guidance documents, pollution prevention news, and an on-line reporting system for DEO sites and program offices.
