Russian River County Sanitation District Wastewater Treatment Facility’s Third Unit Processes Project
The Sonoma County Water Agency (SCWA), on behalf of the Russian River County Sanitation (RRCSD), has requested $451,400 from EPA to fund construction of the Third Unit Processes Project (TUPP) for the RRCSD wastewater treatment facility. The RRCSD wastewater treatment facility is located in the unincorporated community of Guerneville, California.
The TUPP would improve the RRCSD wastewater treatment facility’s ability to treat high flows during the rainy season. The TUPP would include construction of a third aeration basin, a third secondary clarifier and a replacement tertiary filter system. All construction would take place on the existing RRCSD property. The TUPP would not increase the RRCSD wastewater treatment facility’s permitted effluent discharge levels.
Environmental Assessment and Finding of No Significant Impact
The Sonoma County Water Agency and EPA have prepared an Environmental Assessment (EA) for this proposed action. EPA has determined that the RRCSD’s TUPP will not have a significant impact on the environment, and has prepared a Finding of No Significant Impact (FNSI). Several of the EA's figures and appendicides are not available online. Complete documents may be requested from EPA or SCWA, or viewed at one of the four locations listed below.
