National Association Outreach Meetings
EPA Office of Congressional and Intergovernmental Relations (OCIR)
Geographic location or area of activity: Washington, DC
Description of activity: OCIR hosts quarterly meetings for local representatives of national associations (e.g., Environmental Council of the States, National Governors’ Association, Association of State and Interstate Water Pollution Control Administrators, etc.) with EPA leadership to discuss high profile subjects potentially affecting the associations’ constituents. Recent meetings have featured the Assistant Administrator for OAR discussing the Agency’s proposed ozone standards, the Assistant Administrator for OECA discussing the settlement with American Electric Power and the Administrator’s Counselor for Agricultural Policy discussing the contents of the pending Farm Bill.
