Missouri River Recovery Implementation Committee

Geographic location or area of activity:  Missouri River

Description of activity:  EPA has been a continuing partner in Missouri River Recovery efforts, providing funding and technical input to the Missouri River Recovery Implementation Committee (MRRIC).  The MRRIC is a basin-wide stakeholder group formed to provide guidance to the federal government on river recovery activities.  MRRIC includes government and non-governmental entities that have regulatory, conservation, business and/or cultural ties to the Missouri River.

In FY 2007, EPA provided input into the creation of the “framework” document to guide over 50 stakeholders in the development of a Charter for establishing the MRRIC, and hosted a stakeholder public comment forum in Kansas City.
