Robin Moran:

As a long time TAX-payer here in the Shenandoah Valley, I was very much disgusted with your 62 x 10 3/4" advertisement in the "Daily News Record" newspaper concerning the Merck plant at Elkton, Virginia.

I have been living here in the Valley for over 50 years and Merck has been here all that time manufacturing penicillin and other pharmaceutical drugs to benefit the health of the American people. Not in all of these years have we ever had a death in this Valley caused by pollution from Merck & Company.

The only possible result your bureaucracy (E.P.A.) and the Federal Government can accomplish with this harassment is to drive another good American business out of America and into Mexico or some other foreign country.

We American TAX-PAYERS deserve a president and Congress that is friendly to our American businesses. They should start with the courage to eliminate many of the unnecessary bureaucracies such as the E.P.A. and the Department of Education.

I already know your response: "mean-spirited and wanting to cut spending and starve the children."

You can save it for some-one who may believe that nonsense.

A TAX-PAYER,
