On June 16, 2009, the U.S. Department of Transportation, U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development, and U.S. Environmental Protection Agency formed the Partnership for Sustainable Communities. The three agencies collaborated on transportation, housing, and environmental issues to help communities achieve their economic, social, and environmental goals.
