Partnership for Sustainable Communities: Supporting Environmental Justice and Equitable Development

The Partnership for Sustainable Communities, a collaboration among the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development, the U.S. Department of Transportation, and the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency, helped build the capacity of environmental justice and equitable development organizations to engage in planning their neighborhoods' and regions' futures.

A working group examined how the Partnership could support the efforts of environmental justice communities to achieve sustainability. "Partnership for Sustainable Communities: Supporting Environmental Justice and Equitable Development" (2010) describes some of the projects that the Partnership undertook in its first year that brought together environmental justice, equitable development, and sustainable communities.
