Hinsdale, NH is a small rural community that has faced significant flooding in the past. EPA worked with this community to help it become more resilient to future flooding, which is likely to occur more frequently as the climate changes.
EPA conducted a vulnerability assessment of the town’s drinking water treatment and distribution system and developed a resilience plan, to be followed by a tri-state Water Sector Resilience Workshop to share lessons learned and new tools, resulting in more enhanced coordination among water utilities and emergency responders.
EPA worked with the town of Hinsdale and the U.S. Postal Service to install a rain garden at the Hinsdale Post Office.
