EPA worked with Gary on a wide range of quality of life improvements around the Northside Redevelopment Project and University Park neighborhoods.  Leveraging support from the federal Partnership for Sustainable Communities and Strong Cities/Strong Communities Initiative, EPA helped the city address priorities that included:

• brownfields cleanup and redevelopment
• green, complete streets
• outreach and capacity building to address local public health concerns
• workforce development training
