Summary
EPA is issuing a notice of proposed action under the Clean Water Act. EPA is proposing to issue National Pollutant Discharge Elimination System (NPDES) permit renewals to the following dischargers subject to certain effluent limitations and special conditions:
- Sunrise Park Resort—Sunrise Hotel Wastewater Treatment Plant (WWTP)

The Sunrise Hotel treatment plant is located approximately 12 miles west of Greer, Apache County, Arizona, within the boundaries of the Fort Apache Indian Reservation. The WWTF serves a population of less than 1,520 and receives only domestic wastewater with a design flow of 0.04 million gallons per day (“MGD”). Secondary treatment is provided using an activated sludge package system which is comprised of flow equalization, preliminary influent grinding, aeration, clarification, followed by chlorination and dechlorination prior to discharge. Treated effluent is discharged to Snake Creek which is a tributary to the North Fork of the White River. - Sunrise Park Resort—Cyclone Day Lodge WWTP

The Cyclone Day lodge treatment plant is located approximately 12 miles west of Greer, Apache County, Arizona, within the boundaries of the Fort Apache Indian Reservation. The WWTF serves a population of 1,040 and receives only domestic wastewater with a design flow of 0.026 MGD. Secondary treatment is provided using an activated sludge package system which is comprised of flow equalization, preliminary influent grinding, aeration, clarification, followed by chlorination and dechlorination prior to discharge. Treated effluent is discharged to Becker Creek which is a tributary to the North Fork of the White River.
