Summary

The U.S. Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) hereby notifies that the Statement of Basis for corrective actions proposed by Chevron Phillips Chemical Puerto Rico Core, L.L.C. (Chevron or Facility), is available for public review and comment. The Statement of Basis summarizes the actions that were carried out by Chevron, pursuant to the 1995 Administrative Order on Consent, to address the media contamination due to the presence of volatile organic compounds (VOCs), semi-volatile organic compounds (SVOCs), and metals at Chevron’s facility located in Las Mareas Ward, Guayama, Puerto Rico. Additionally, the Statement of Basis describes the remedies that were considered and proposed to address the groundwater, soil, and sediment contamination at the Facility.
