Proposed Guidance: Pesticide Use Site Index for Antimicrobial Data Requirements
For Release: July 1, 2015
Today, EPA is requesting comment on proposed Antimicrobial Pesticide Use Site Index guidance. The proposed Use Site Index guidance will help antimicrobial pesticide registrants and applicants for registration identify what data will be required to support their product registrations. The Federal Insecticide, Fungicide, and Rodenticide Act requires that pesticide product labels specify where and how the product is intended to be used, and the data required to support registration are determined in part based on the sites where the product will be used.
The proposed guidance complements EPA’s 2013 amendments to the data requirements for antimicrobial pesticides. The publication of this the proposed Use Site Index guidance satisfies a condition of the March 2, 2015, settlement agreement between EPA and the American Chemistry Council following its legal challenge of the data requirements. Under that settlement agreement, EPA will accept comments on this proposed guidance for 30 days.
The Antimicrobial Pesticide Use Site Index, settlement agreement and additional subpart 158W documents are available at www.regulations.gov in docket EPA-HQ-OPP-2015- 0302.
