EPA to Sign Memorandum of Understanding with Atlanta Metropolitan State College
ATLANTA - On Wednesday, April 22, 2015, the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) will enter into agreement with Atlanta Metropolitan State College (AMSC) to promote environmental sustainability. The Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) will provide technical assistance, outreach and training to the underrepresented communities in the metropolitan Atlanta and surrounding areas that will help establish and maintain healthy and environmental sustainable communities.
The MOU will not only provide additional opportunities for student training and internships, faculty research support and environmental and public health initiatives, but will also strengthen AMSC's environmental work on campus as well as its outreach in Atlanta communities and throughout the state.

Through this MOU the partners express their intention to establish cooperative working relationships over the next three years, in areas of mutual interest, including participation by the Institutions in the EPA Region 4 Environmental Science Partnership Program. Under this program the EPA intends to establish partnerships with colleges and universities in the southeast to develop a pool of culturally diverse and highly qualified graduates to address current and future environmental challenges.
