EPA Honors Entergy Mississippi, Inc. as 2018 ENERGY STAR® Partner of the Year

ATLANTA- (April 2, 2018) The U.S. Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) and the U.S. Department of Energy (DOE) are honoring Entergy Mississippi, Inc. as a 2018 ENERGY STAR Partner of the Year for demonstrating national leadership in cost-saving energy efficient solutions.   The Jackson, Mississippi-based company is one of 163 ENERGY STAR partners—that includes Fortune 500 companies, schools, hospitals, retailers, manufacturers, home builders, and commercial building owners and operators – for their outstanding contributions to public health and the environment.

Entergy Mississippi, Inc., an electric utility serving approximately 447,000 customers, Entergy Mississippi distributed more than 75,000 ENERGY STAR certified LED bulbs to limited income residents, an increase of 72 percent from 2016. The company also conducted nearly 5,000 visual home energy audits, resulting in nearly 50,000 installed ENERGY STAR certified bulbs.

The awards will be presented in Washington, DC, at the Washington Hilton Hotel on April 20, 2018. EPA Assistant Administrator for Air and Radiation, Bill Wehrum, together with Patti Poppe, CEO of CMS Energy, will deliver keynote presentations.

“The 2018 ENERGY STAR Partners of the Year have demonstrated real leadership, showing how American families and businesses can save energy, save money, and reduce air emissions,” said EPA Assistant Administrator for Air and Radiation Bill Wehrum.

“I congratulate Energy Star Partner of the Year, Entergy Mississippi Inc., for their leadership and demonstrated commitment to developing energy-efficient solutions,” said EPA Regional Administrator Trey Glenn. “Their efforts play an important role in protecting the environment by reducing emissions in their communities.”

Other enterprises that will be named ENERGY STAR Partners of the Year Recipients of the 2018 ENERGY STAR Partner of the Year Award come from 35 states and include: Best Buy, Energy Inspectors, Inc., Eastman Chemical Company, Food Lion, and GE Lighting.
