Total Release Fogger Petition and Related Analysis

The New York City Department of Health and Mental Hygiene petitioned EPA in 2009 to restrict the use of insecticides formulated as total release foggers and make other label changes to ensure public health and safety. EPA's analysis found that the available information does not meet the criteria set out by the Federal Insecticide, Fungicide and Rodenticide Act (FIFRA), and in regulations, for restricting these pesticides. However, the response noted that EPA has taken several actions to improve labeling on these products.
