Colorado River Sewage System Joint Venture is a wastewater treatment plant located in Parker Arizona. The NPDES permit (No. AZ0021415) was issued on February 5, 2015, became effective on May 1, 2015 and will expire on April 30, 2020. The facility is proposing to implement an aquatic macrophyte treatment system to enhance nutrient removal prior to discharge into the Colorado River. The specific permit modification regards changing the monitoring point for nitrate+nitrite samples to be at the end of the aquatic macrophyte treatment system, which is an existing wetland. The wetland is approximately one mile long and this treatment system will provide multiple benefits, including diverse habitat for aquatic organisms and avian species as well as supply cattails for tribal cultural uses.
