Connecticut Phase III GRTS Design (2005/2006) Narrative

Connecticut’s two-year GRTS sampling design for years 2005 and 2006 incorporated pre-existing Long Island Sound Survey locations. A modified GRTS methodology was used to select a subset of these L.I.S. stations for sampling. A randomized GRTS design was used to select new stations in Tidal River areas.

Fifty stations in two strata were selected for sampling over two years. The station areas used in earlier NCA sampling years were used for Long Island Sound Stratum station. GRTS-based areas were assigned to stations in the Tidal River Stratrum.

The map file ct2k5.jpg shows planned Connecticut sampling locations for 2005 and 2006. The file CT_locations_and_areas.xls provides planned latitude/longitudes and information on station areas.
