The purpose of this manual is to document suggested field data and sample collection procedures for the Coastal 2000 - Northeast Component. These protocols have been developed by EMAP over the past 10 years. They will be identical to, or at least comparable with, those used in other regions of the country. Individual states may prefer to use other methods, especially if they are currently being used in existing programs. This is acceptable providing that comparability can be demonstrated to the Coastal 2000 - Northeast Component Field Coordinator and the QA Officer.
