Women, Girls and the Environment
". . . expanding opportunities, bringing more women into leadership roles, and welcoming those changes are essential to meeting the challenges we face today. I hope that all of you, as leaders in your own communities, will take every opportunity to support this transformation. I hope you will encourage your daughters and your students to consider new fields and to explore them to the fullest."
Former Administrator Lisa P. Jackson
Women and the Environment White House Summit
In 2012, EPA and the White House hosted the first Women and the Environment Summit. The second annual event will take place at the White House on March 21, 2013. Senior leaders from EPA, other federal agencies and organizations will engage with more than 100 women in two panels and six action workshops. They will discuss the continuing need for women to take an active role in protecting our health and our natural environment.
