Meet the Artist

John D. Dawson has been a natural history illustrator for nearly thirty years. You may have seen his realistic paintings in Ranger Rick magazine, National Geographic magazine, or maybe at the trail head of a national park.

If you went to your local post office and asked for the latest "Nature in America" stamps you would see his paintings of plants and animals of select areas in the United States, including the Sonoran Desert and Pacific Coast Rain Forest. Or when you walk into any bookstore nature section you might see a number of books with his paintings, including one of his favorites, Golden Guide to Venomous Animals.

Mr. Dawson lives on the Big Island of Hawaii with his wife and business partner, Kathleen.
