Georeferencing - Summary
- Georeferencing is the process of describing (or locating) entities in a GIS coverage.
-
Database attributes can only be displayed accurately in GIS if they apply to each spatial entity in their entirety.
-
Defining spatially determinant waterbodies allows water quality data to be linked to a GIS coverage and displayed accurately. Existing systems with Spatial Indeterminacy can often be modified to work with a GIS simply by creating surface water entities with unique identifiers and homogenous attribute information.
