Water: Public Water System Supervision Grant

State and Territorial PWSS Program Allotments

Every year Congress appropriates funds to assist eligible states, territories, and Indian tribes in carrying out public water system supervision (PWSS) programs. A fact sheet describes the state and territorial program grants in more detail.

              FY 2010 'Tentative" Allotments

The FY2010 federal budget requested $105,700,000 for the PWSS Program Grants. Using the budget request as a planning target, EPA has calculated tentative (target) allotments for FY2010. $6,803,100 would be set-aside to support PWSS programs on tribal lands. The remaining $98,896,900 would be allotted, by formula, among states and territories. These tentative allotments provide states and territories with potential funding targets to assist them in developing plans for their PWSS programs in FY2010.
